Pre-Congress Workshop: Hypnosis in the treatment of past traumatic memory

When: 23/08/2017 9.30-13.00

Hilton Deansgate Manchester

About the training:

This workshop is suitable for those with some knowledge of hypnosis and who work with patients who are struggling with the negative effects of past traumatic memories.

Stabilisation and the art of taking a therapeutic history will be discussed as well as deciding what approaches would be suitable for different types of client.

This workshop will look at practical ways that imagery can be used to rapidly disrupt recurrent flashbacks, thoughts or memories and how one can utilise the client’s strengths and resources to help themselves. Participants will also be shown some ways of utilising dissociated imagery to resolve the distress caused by negative memories from the past.

All of the above will be presented within the context of the science of both PTSD and hypnosis, a science that explains why hypnosis is especially effective as a treatment for this distressing disorder.

Cost £75 including lunch and refreshments
