After two years in the planning, 'Hypnosis- unlocking hidden potential' got off to a great start on Wednesday 23rd August with an opening session of invited addresses followed by a Drinks Reception for all the delegates as they listened to the beautiful playing of a harp. This was followed by three very full days of keynote addresses, workshops and presentations on a whole variety of topics. If you would like to read some further details please click on Scientific Programme and Abstract Book.
On Thursday we had a great evening dancing to the ceilidh band 'Shake-a-leg,' and on Friday enjoyed close up magic from David Smith before and during our Gala Dinner, before dancing the night away with Manchester-based band 'Jazz Hands'.
The XIV European Congress ended with a bang as Dr James Braid (alias Dr Mike Gow) appeared after 150 years, to talk about his life and times when he was experimenting with mesmerism, and formed the theory that hypnosis has to do with attentional focus.
As we receive photos of the event from delegates we will post up the best.... and a big thank you to everyone who contributed to making this a great Congress!
