Lancs and Cheshire

Online - Module 2 Lancs & Cheshire

When: 23/10/2021

About the training:

Online - Module 2 with Lancs & Cheshire branch

Module 2 is aimed at developing the cotent taught in Module 1. To book module 2 you must have completed Module 1.
As a safeguard for clients / patients, we will only train healthcare professioanls who are eligible for membership of BSCAH. If you are in any doubt please send your CV to Linda Dunlop:

In Module 2 of our short Foundation training (which consists of 3 modules) we introduce the concept and rationale for hypnotic techniques in other conditions not previously covered in module 1, so if you are already working with patients with these conditions you should then be able to integrate simple hypnotic and imagery techniques in to your work. Learn about the neuroscience behind the hypnotic response and how words can influence the outcome of any interaction you have with your patients.

See our training list for: Module 3 which expands on what you have learnt in modules 1 and 2. Please note that you can book the individual modules with Lancs & Cheshire or with other branches.
There are also various optional specialist modules that will enable you to expand your knowledge of using clinical hypnotic techniques with children, in obstetrics, PTSD, depression, grief, oncology and terminal care to name a few. Prior completion of Module 1 is a requirement. The first of these will run in October 2021 on Gut-focused hypnotherapy with Peter Whorwell.

Module 2 Course Content

This module will have taught content, with demonstrations where appropriate, supervised practice, and the opportunity to ask questions pertinent to your professional interest. We aim to ensure that by the end of the weekend you will feel competent to start using your new skills effectively. The tutors are all healthcare professionals, who regulary use hypnosis in their clinical practice. We work closely with our academic colleagues so that we present evidence-based techniques, in a forum which encourages you to build your own individuality into the therapy you deliver. There will be plenary question and answer sessions at the end of each day, and we will ask you to evaluate us at the end of the course. Handouts of notes for each module, including reading lists and references will be available electronically prior to the course and any presentations used will be made available electronically to participants.

The course does not lead to qualifications as such but can be allowed towards CPD as we keep a register, evaluation forms and issue an attendance certificate. If you wish to have a university accredited plateable qualification then the Midlands Branch run an AdvDip/BSc/ GradCert/PGCert course with the City of Birmingham University in Clincial Hypnosis & Related Techniques.

You can apply to do all 3 foundation modules at a cost of £600 with Lancs & Cheshire (see training/events list) or you could start by doing just this module for £250 (£200 for BSCAH members) if you have already completed Module 1.
