About the training:

The Royal Society of Medicine has its annual hypnosis and psychosomatic Elliotson prize and lecture, taking place on Monday 27 April 2020 from 5pm.

This evening meeting will explore and debate the current state of the application and use of hypnosis and hypnotherapy in the NHS, debate the potential implications of the terms hypnotherapy and hypnosis, and examine the rationale for the use of the term hypnosis or hypnotherapy in professional work.

The Elliotson prize will be awarded and three presentations provided by the first three prize winners. The presentations will debate the implications and appropriateness of the terms hypnosis and hypnotherapy.

  • The rationale for the use of the term 'hypnosis' in professional work.
  • How to promote the appropriate use of hypnosis in a variety of fields of physical and mental health.
  • The potential added value of hypnosis in the NHS.
